Barys beat Spartak in shootout as Moscow side’s losing run reaches six

The KHL regular-season game in Moscow ended 4–3 after the teams stayed level through overtime.

Barys Astana beat Spartak Moscow in a shootout in a Kontinental Hockey League regular-season game. The visitors won 4–3 after neither team prevailed in regulation or overtime.

Logan Day, Alikhan Assetov and Tyce Thompson scored for Barys, and Garrett Pilon converted the decisive shootout attempt. Daniil Gutik, Danil Pivchulin and Lucas Lockhart scored for Spartak.

Barys moved to 14 points and fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Spartak have 12 points and sit sixth in the Western Conference. The defeat was Alexei Zhamnov’s team’s sixth in a row.
