The assailant threatened employees and two customers before fleeing with cash and valuables. He remains at large, and police ruled out a man detained nearby in an unrelated case.
A masked man robbed a beauty salon in central La Plata, Argentina, and beat one of its employees. He threatened people inside, demanded cash and took money and valuables before running away, La Nación reported. The incident happened on Saturday, October 3, at a salon on Calle 6, one block from Plaza San Martín.
Security-camera footage published by the newspaper shows the robber moving through the salon and assaulting an employee as he searched for cash and valuables. Sofía, one of the victims, told El Trece TV that the man pushed and hit her before taking her to a bathroom. A 93-year-old customer and her caregiver were there, and she said they were her main concern.
Sofía said the assailant threatened to shoot her and carried a knife. She said she did not see a firearm. Salon owner Andrea, Sofía’s mother, was in another part of the premises and heard the threats and assault but could not intervene.
Sofía called police after the robbery. Officers took her to identify a suspect detained about four blocks away in connection with a motorcycle theft, but investigators determined that he was not involved in the salon attack. The robber remains at large, and the victims’ family has asked for help identifying him.
