Brazil’s gubernatorial races will continue on October 25 after the first-round count. CNN Brasil reports runoffs in seven states, but its detailed list names candidates in only six states and the Federal District. A second round is held when no candidate receives more than half of valid votes, excluding blank and null ballots.

In the southeast, races remain open in Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro. Former state deputy Lorenzo Pazolini (Republicanos) will face Ricardo Ferraço (MDB) in Espírito Santo. Rio de Janeiro voters will choose between Douglas Ruas (PL) and Eduardo Paes (PSD). In the Federal District, incumbent governor Celina Leão (PP), who received 49.93% in the first round, faces former district deputy Leandro Grass (PT).

Two more runoffs will take place in the northeast. In Tocantins, Senator Professora Dorinha (União Brasil) will face federal deputy Vicentinho Júnior (PSDB). In Rio Grande do Norte, Allyson (União) and Cadu de Lula (PT) will compete for the governorship.

In the north, voters in Amazonas will choose between Omar Aziz (PSD) and Professora Maria do Carmo. In Acre, Mailza Assis (PP) and Alan Rick (Republicanos) advanced to the runoff.
