British novelist and former politician Jeffrey Archer has died at the age of 86, LBC reported, citing publisher HarperCollins. His novels have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide.
News of his death came a day before the planned publication of his new novel, “Adam and Eve.” His best-known works include “Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less,” published in 1976, and “Kane and Abel,” published in 1979.
Archer served in the British Parliament from 1969 to 1974, leaving office amid financial problems. He was made a lord in 1992. In 2013, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent surgery.
