Dubai PMI rises to seven-month high as business activity accelerates

The index rose to 54.5 from 54.1 in August, while export orders posted their strongest growth in two years.

Dubai’s S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index rose to 54.5 points in September from 54.1 in August, signalling stronger conditions in the non-oil private sector and reaching a seven-month high.

Business activity expanded at its fastest pace since the start of 2026, supported by a sharp rise in output. New orders increased markedly, with export business growing at its strongest pace in two years. Employment growth resumed after dipping in August.

Backlogs continued to build significantly amid strong new orders. Output price inflation accelerated to its highest level since January 2014 as companies passed higher input costs on to customers.
