The reported list names 28 people allegedly connected to scam networks and human trafficking in Southeast Asia. Among them is Vorapak Tanyawong, who served as deputy finance minister in Anutin’s previous administration.
Anutin acknowledged seeing Vorapak’s name. He said anyone facing allegations should obtain legal representation, establish the facts and clear their name if they were not involved.
Asked about a reported US call for Thailand to accelerate an investigation, Anutin responded: “Which government? Not this government.” He maintained that the matter did not concern the current administration.
The reports concern an investigation and possible sanctions, rather than a confirmed decision to impose penalties on all those named. The allegations remain subject to investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
