The Ravens were again practicing without several key players on Wednesday. Wide receiver Zay Flowers remained out because of the hamstring injury that forced him out of the team's Week 1 win over the Colts. Head coach Jesse Minter called Flowers day-to-day earlier this week, but another missed practice on Friday would be a bad sign for his availability against the Saints this weekend.
The team will also be without rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane, who had wrist surgery this week. His absence means Lamar Jackson will be working with a thin group of wideouts one way or another.
Reporters also noted that linebacker Trey Hendrickson (finger), left tackle Ronnie Stanley (toe), left guard John Simpson (groin) and cornerback T.J. Tampa (knee) did not participate during the open portion of practice.
Flowers' status remains the central question for the passing game. Minter's day-to-day designation leaves open the possibility that Flowers could return, but a Friday absence would make it harder for him to face the Saints. Lane's surgery removes one option entirely, increasing the pressure on Jackson and the remaining wideouts.
