The telecoms group, already a constituent of the FTSE 100, announced that it intends to list Airtel Money as a separate entity on the London market, a move that could become one of the city’s largest listings in recent years.
According to Bloomberg data, the initial public offering is expected to generate roughly $800 million (£601 million) in proceeds for the company.
Airtel Money, which serves an estimated 53 million customers across Africa, offers services ranging from bill payments and cash withdrawals to broader money‑transfer functions.
In the most recent financial year the business recorded revenues of about $1.4 billion (£1.1 billion), underscoring its growing importance within Airtel Africa’s portfolio.
Airtel Africa is part of Indian conglomerate Bharti Enterprises, and the proposed London listing is being pitched as a boost for the City’s capital‑raising market.
