Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta and Guntur district Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal inaugurated the SafeStay AP app on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, describing it as a common digital platform that brings together citizens, accommodation providers and the police ecosystem.
Through the app, users can search for verified hotels, paying‑guest (PG) facilities, hostels and other registered lodgings based on location and personal requirements, manage bookings, maintain a digital profile and complete the necessary verification process before staying.
Property owners and managers can also register their premises on the platform, upload details of rooms and beds, update availability, handle bookings and record guest‑related information, reducing dependence on fragmented or manual record‑keeping.
A separate, authorised police interface provides centralised access to accommodation and safety information, including property verification, safety alerts, SOS notifications, mapping, analytics and live occupancy details, all governed by role‑based access and departmental authorisation.
Officials said the integrated workflow is intended to improve information visibility, speed up safety‑related responses, aid crime prevention, accelerate criminal investigations and create a more transparent, digitally connected accommodation ecosystem across the state.
