The agreement, disclosed in a press release on Sept. 23, outlines a plan for Blockchain.com to offer access to tokenized shares and ETFs through NYSE’s upcoming digital ATS, pending the required regulatory approvals.
Under the MOU, NYSE affiliate ICE Data Services will distribute Blockchain.com’s crypto market data and analytics to its subscribing clients, while Blockchain.com will integrate selected ICE and NYSE exchange data feeds into its own app, creating a two‑way flow of market information.
Blockchain.com, which operates in more than 70 jurisdictions and supports 44 million confirmed accounts, said the partnership would extend “the opportunity to invest in these digital assets to tens of millions of … users around the world,” according to executive chairman, CEO and co‑founder Peter Smith.
NYSE Group President Lynn Martin said the collaboration aims to combine the trust of traditional finance with the accessibility of digital assets, calling Blockchain.com’s international footprint and digital‑asset expertise a “natural complement” to the tokenized securities platform.
The NYSE first announced its intent to build a platform for trading and on‑chain settlement of tokenized securities in January, and in March partnered with Securitize, naming the firm the first digital transfer agent authorized to mint blockchain‑native securities for corporate issuers and ETFs on the new system.
If approved, the tokenized‑stock offering would give Blockchain.com’s retail and institutional users a direct route to U.S. equities without the need for a traditional brokerage account, potentially reshaping how investors access listed securities.
