Speaking to an audience of industry leaders, government officials and NGOs, Sriram highlighted the need to move “from awareness to action, and from action to measurable impact,” and urged participants to translate commitments into tangible environmental results.
He thanked the summit’s panelists and fire‑side chat speakers for their insights, and specifically acknowledged V. K. Rajeev, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Environment and Climate Change, for his presence and support.
Representatives from major Indian oil firms – Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) – were also thanked for taking part in the event.
Sriram praised The Hindu for organising the summit and highlighted the contributions of CommuniTree, the NGO partner, along with other sustainability organisations and volunteers who helped run initiatives such as the Urban Forest Trail, the “Art for Awareness” campaign and an installation‑art event in Mathur over the past 30 days.
The remarks underscored the broader push by the energy sector and regional government to embed sustainability into operational practices, signalling a collaborative approach that could shape future projects and community‑level environmental programmes.
