Merseyside Police confirmed that Elisha Brabin, 36, and her children Leo Brabin, 16, Ellis Brabin, eight, and Prudence Brabin, seven, were found dead after the fire engulfed their semi‑detached home on Stone Square.
The victims were discovered in an upstairs bedroom by crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, who were battling the flames when they entered the property.
Police released a statement quoting family members who described Elisha as a devoted mother and the children as “beautiful babies” who brought “joy, happiness and love” to their family, adding that the loss has left relatives “heartbroken”.
In the hours after the incident, neighbours and friends laid soft toys – including Minecraft and Star Wars figures – candles, pink and blue star‑shaped balloons and framed photographs on the pavement beside a police cordon, creating a poignant tribute to the family.
The fire service’s investigation continues, while the community mourns the tragic loss of a mother and her three young children.
