Thousands of supporters already gathered at the Cockburn ARC facility this morning to watch a Dockers training session, underscoring the high demand for public viewing options ahead of the grand final.
Western Australian authorities have announced free public transport on game day, and road closures along South Terrace between Norfolk and Phillimore streets from 12 pm Friday until 5 am Sunday to accommodate the influx of fans.
Within Fremantle, a series of free, walk‑in venues have been confirmed. The Cappuccino Strip will host back‑to‑back seven‑metre screens from 8 am to 6 pm, with capacity for more than 20,000 standing spectators and an alcohol‑free environment. The Old Courthouse opens at 10 am with walk‑ins only, offering face‑painting and a kid‑friendly lawn screen.
Gage Roads Freo, a waterfront brewery, will display the match on a big screen in its front yard from 10 am, featuring a family‑friendly area, purple pints and a DJ after the final siren. The Freo Harbor Bar and E‑shed markets, located next to the train station, will provide three TVs for fans.
The National Hotel will host a free screen from 9 am until capacity is reached, with the game shown both downstairs and on an upstairs screen. Clancy’s Fish Pub, Little Creatures, and The Left Bank each have walk‑in slots after their ticketed lunch events sold out, and all will feature children’s play areas and beer‑garden screens.
Outside Fremantle, two additional free big‑screen sites have been earmarked: Northbridge Piazza at Optus Stadium and Yagan Square, both of which will broadcast the match to the wider Perth public.
