The two firms announced that GMR Aero Technic will operate as an authorised service centre delivering specialised on‑wing engine maintenance and support to carriers and aircraft operators throughout the Asia‑Pacific (APAC) market.
The planned centre will offer a suite of services that includes engine and module replacements, borescope inspections, fan‑blade and fuel‑nozzle changes, gearbox swaps, engine preservation, Quick Engine Change (QEC) build‑ups, electronic control unit (ECU) software upgrades, logistics support and engine change operations.
“By combining StandardAero’s global expertise in engine aftermarket services with our infrastructure and regional presence, we aim to create a responsive on‑wing support network that delivers greater value to airlines and operators,” said Ashok Gopinath, president and accountable manager of GMR Aero Technic.
StandardAero’s senior vice‑president of Global Sales, Rebecca Lane, highlighted India’s rapid commercial‑aviation growth, noting that the partnership “underscores StandardAero’s commitment to providing operators with local support on a global scale,” and referenced the company’s earlier tie‑up with GMF AeroAsia in Indonesia as part of a broader regional strategy.
The collaboration is positioned as a step toward making India a leading hub for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, offering airlines faster access to engine support nearer to their operating bases and potentially reducing the time aircraft spend out of service.
