In a message circulated to Green Party members ahead of the annual conference in Brighton, which begins next Friday, Polanski urged “hundreds of you on the streets every day, including Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of October.”
The appeal asks members to miss the in‑person conference and, if they still wish to take part, to switch their tickets to a cheaper online option that allows remote voting.
Polanski stressed that the conference will remain “the most democratic of all the political parties” and is on track to become the best‑attended event the Greens have ever held, despite the push for volunteers to focus on the by‑election.
