The MoU was exchanged at the SemiCon India 2026 exhibition in New Delhi between Ramachandra Parashar, Director of NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL), and S.D. Sudarsan, Executive Director of C‑DAC, marking a formal strategic partnership between the two organisations.
Under the agreement, NIRL will bring its expanding portfolio of solar, wind and energy‑storage projects to the table, while C‑DAC will contribute its expertise in advanced computing, high‑performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies.
A key focus of the collaboration is the development of renewable‑energy‑powered data centres. The partners intend to provide technology support and consultancy to design and operate state‑of‑the‑art facilities that are both sustainable and energy‑efficient, reducing the carbon footprint of India’s growing digital infrastructure.
Beyond data centres, the MoU opens avenues for joint research and development in emerging technology domains such as HPC, AI and quantum computing, with the aim of creating innovative solutions that sit at the intersection of clean energy and digital technology.
The partnership aligns with India’s broader vision of a secure, sustainable and technology‑driven digital ecosystem, reinforcing the objectives of the Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives as highlighted by NLC India Limited.
