On the sidelines of the UNGA high‑level week, Dar held a bilateral discussion with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl‑Reisinger, where both sides expressed satisfaction with the upward trajectory of Pakistan‑Austria relations and pledged to expand cooperation in trade, investment, education and people‑to‑people contacts.
The Austrian meeting also covered regional developments, notably the situation in the Middle East, with Dar stressing the need for dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful settlement of disputes in line with the UN Charter, while Meinl‑Reisinger praised Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace.
In a separate session, Dar welcomed newly appointed Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán, congratulating her on assuming office and reaffirming a commitment to strengthen Pakistan‑Hungary ties through political engagement, trade, business links, education and cultural exchanges, and agreeing to set up regular bilateral consultation mechanisms.
The Hungarian talks echoed Dar’s broader message that dialogue and diplomacy remain the viable means of addressing regional challenges and highlighted the importance of fully implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding by all parties.
Dar’s meeting with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Dr Velislava Petrova‑Chamova reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan‑Bulgaria relations, with both ministers expressing interest in more frequent political contacts and deeper economic engagement, while reiterating that diplomatic efforts are essential to resolve outstanding disputes.
Finally, Dar sat down with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, who commended Pakistan’s contribution to regional stability and the growing diplomatic outreach. The two ministers discussed ways to boost trade, investment and business‑to‑business cooperation, noted the role of the Pakistani diaspora in Greece, and agreed to maintain high‑level engagement, including reciprocal visits.
Collectively, the four meetings form part of Pakistan’s broader diplomatic outreach at the UN General Assembly, aimed at expanding bilateral partnerships, securing economic opportunities and reinforcing the country’s call for sustained diplomatic engagement on regional and global issues.
