The body of the young man was found inside his residence in the Periyar Nagar neighbourhood, a short distance from the city’s New Bus Stand, on Wednesday morning. Neighbours reported hearing a disturbance but did not intervene until authorities arrived.
Suresh Kumar, 25, lived with his mother at the address, according to police statements. Investigators noted visible marks on the victim’s neck that are consistent with strangulation, prompting them to say they are not ruling out murder at this stage.
An autopsy has been ordered, and officials said the post‑mortem report will be essential to confirm the exact cause of death. The police have not released further details pending the forensic findings.
