Alwyn Prakash Kunder, a native of Kundapur in Karnataka’s Udupi district, had worked for a private airline as a senior manager at Sharjah Airport for 14 years before his death was confirmed by authorities on August 12.
According to his brother, Anil Prashanth Kunder, Alwyn’s last known contact with family was a phone call on July 20, after which he began sending only text messages, prompting suspicion when he stopped answering calls.
Alwyn’s wife, Tina, a school teacher from Udyavara, and their son, a class‑10 student, are reported missing; the family in Kundapur has not heard from them since the disappearance.
When Anil asked Alwyn’s classmate, Manohar, to check on him at the company‑provided flat in Sharjah, the watchman claimed Alwyn was in India, while the airline’s HR records and passport checks indicated he was still in Sharjah, leading Anil to file a missing‑person report with the employer.
Sharjah police later discovered Alwyn’s body, cut into pieces and packed into two bags, hidden in the boot of a car parked on a road heading toward Oman.
The death certificate was issued on September 21, and the family received it the same day, prompting them to petition Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar for assistance on September 22.
Superintendent Shankar stated that without a formal letter rogatory, Red Corner notice, or Interpol request, the Udupi police have limited legal recourse, but they are coordinating with the Dubai consulate and will pursue information through Interpol channels.
The case remains under investigation in Sharjah, with authorities yet to disclose details about the circumstances of the body’s disposal or the whereabouts of Tina and their son.
