Town panchayat officials met the demonstrators and explained that the shortage stems from a lack of recent rainfall and a consequent drop in groundwater levels, which has limited the village’s ability to draw water.
The officials assured the crowd that water would be sourced from other locations and distributed to the village by vehicles, a measure they said would restore supply while longer‑term solutions are explored.
Following the officials’ assurances, the residents dispersed, ending the protest without further incident.
