The executive‑committee (mushawara) meeting of Samastha, held in Kozhikode on Wednesday, confirmed Koyyode’s elevation after the post became vacant following the death of incumbent K. Alikutty Musliyar in July; the role had been temporarily overseen by joint secretary M.T. Abdulla Musliyar.
During the same session, Abdulla Musliyar was named the organisation’s new treasurer, while V. Moosakoya Musliyar of Wayanad and A.V. Abdurahman Musliyar of Kozhikode were appointed vice‑presidents, and Panangangara Hyder Faizy of Malappuram took over as joint secretary.
President Syed Mohammed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal announced the creation of an eight‑member consultative committee to deliberate on Samastha’s critical matters, noting that mushawara meetings are convened only once every two months. The committee includes the president, the newly appointed general secretary and treasurer, and members Abdurahman Musliyar, Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi, P.K. Hamsakutty Musliyar Adrissery, Vakkod Moideenkutty Musliyar and P.M. Abdulsalam Baqavi.
A reconstituted fatwa committee was also formed to address important religious queries, with Thangal as chairman, Abdulla Musliyar as convener, and members Umar Musliyar, P.K. Moosakutty Hasrath, C.K. Abdurahman Faizy Aripra and Abdul Gafoor Anwari.
The new leadership indicated that the consultative committee will review recent critical remarks made by Samastha secretary Mukkam Umar Faizy regarding the Indian Union Muslim League and the United Democratic Front government over the Waqf dispute, and will summon all stakeholders to discuss a suitable response.
