The launch took place in Lucknow with senior state officials and Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol in attendance, where the chief minister handed over Bharat Taxi share certificates to five drivers and loan sanction letters to five beneficiaries of the farmer scheme.
Bharat Taxi will allow two‑wheelers, taxis and three‑wheelers to register without paying any commission and will provide each driver with a social‑security benefit of Rs 5 lakh, the CM said, adding that the scheme is intended to let drivers work responsibly and without financial worry.
The programme has already begun operations in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj, and the government has signed memoranda of understanding with Lucknow Airport, Lucknow Metro and the Lucknow Police to integrate the service with existing transport infrastructure.
Referring to the 2025 Prayagraj Mahakumbh, Adityanath highlighted how thousands of young riders used platforms such as Rapido to ferry pilgrims safely, noting that the model did not disrupt traffic and provided convenient access to the Sangam, the railway station and the airport. He directed Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh to explore extending the Bharat Taxi model to rural bus services, saying it could create employment for “lakhs of young people.”
Under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Gramya Vikas Bank will reduce interest on agricultural loans from 11% to 6%, with long‑term financing aimed at five lakh small and marginal farmers in the coming years.
The chief minister used the occasion to cite a series of agricultural and infrastructural achievements since his government took office in 2017, including the waiver of loans worth more than ₹36,000 crore for 86 lakh farmers, completion of long‑pending irrigation projects such as the Saryu Canal National Project, free electricity for over 16 lakh farmers with private tubewells, and the operation of 122 sugar mills that have paid out ₹3.30 lakh crore to growers.
A mobile application – the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Portal – was also launched to give farmers digital access to fertilizer subsidies, cooperative services and data, while the Bharat Taxi CEO Colonel Himanshu and Lucknow Airport’s chief commercial officer Shiv Mohan signed the MOUs in front of the assembled dignitaries.
