The car allegedly lost control and first hit an auto-rickshaw before crashing into a cycle rickshaw, according to witnesses. The collision took place in the morning in Sukhdev Vihar, southeast Delhi.
A tea seller who said he was 10 to 20 metres from the crash told investigators that two cars had been racing. He alleged that four people got out of the car involved in the collision and left in the other vehicle. The account has not been independently confirmed in the available information.
An officer said the auto-rickshaw driver died at the scene. One or two other people were reported injured. Police were informed, and further details about the injured and the investigation were awaited.
