Budanov says Russia’s threats are increasingly directed at the West

Kyrylo Budanov, chief of staff to Ukraine’s president, said Russia’s foreign-policy rhetoric is becoming more aggressive and Kremlin threats now target Western countries as well as Ukraine. He made the remarks in an interview with Newsforce, Ukrinform reported.

Budanov said Ukraine is part of the Western world and has resisted Russian aggression since 2014, with many people killed during that period. He argued that an aggressor’s ambitions grow if it is not stopped.

Ukrinform also recalled Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s statement that deploying Western military contingents in Ukraine would amount to a “declaration of war” against Russia.
