The workplace accident occurred the previous evening at a construction site in Sıratut, a neighborhood in central Adıyaman in southeastern Türkiye. The 63-year-old guard, identified by the initials H.T., was patrolling the site when he lost his footing in the dark and fell into a stairwell.
People nearby heard him calling for help and contacted the 112 emergency call center. Firefighters, police officers and medical teams were dispatched. Adıyaman municipal firefighters brought H.T. out of the stairwell and transferred him to the health team at the scene.
After receiving first aid, the guard was taken by ambulance to Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital. The source said his condition was being monitored. Police inspected the construction site and opened an inquiry into the incident.
