Jürgen Klopp’s Germany side is changing personnel before its second week of Nations League matches and moving between training bases in Herzogenaurach and Augsburg. The second group originally contained 21 players, but Leipzig forward Brajan Gruda withdrew through injury, reducing it to 20.
Augsburg goalkeeper Finn Dahmen had been selected for both weeks. Florian Wirtz of Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jonathan Burkardt arrived earlier and were already part of the 23-man squad for the Augsburg match.
Alongside Dahmen, five players from the first group will remain: Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck, Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry, Freiburg players Philipp Treu and Yannik Engelhardt, and Hoffenheim’s Bambasé Conté. Klopp will therefore have 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers for the second international week.
After reaching Bavaria, the second group was due to travel to Augsburg and watch Klopp’s home debut against Greece at a sold-out WWK Arena. Germany’s subsequent fixtures include matches against Serbia and Greece.
