More than 200 choirs set a continuous singing record in Berlin

The concert at Atze Musiktheater in Wedding marked the Berlin choral association’s 125th anniversary. More than 200 choirs from Germany and six other countries took turns on stage from Monday to Saturday.

A record adjudicator monitored the performance and confirmed the world record for the longest choral concert after it ended, RID said. The certification came from the German-language record organisation.

Participants included the RIAS Chamber Choir and Berlin’s 4, an ensemble of members of the Berlin Radio Choir. Organisers and adjudicators highlighted the substantial coordination, commitment, solidarity and stamina required to keep the music going without interruption.
