More than 57,000 runners set off on Sunday’s Berlin Marathon, covering the classic 42.195-kilometre distance, Tagesspiegel reported.
Thousands of participants crossed the Kronprinzenbrücke at the seven-kilometre mark. The area around the Bundestag and Brandenburg Gate was already lively early in the morning, according to the report.
Runners had come from South Korea, Colorado and elsewhere, while spectators cheered along the route.
