The man arrested in Dren, identified as S.V. and born in 1971, was taken to the police station in Leposavic and questioned with a lawyer present. A prosecutor ordered his detention for up to 48 hours. Police linked him to an outbuilding used as a stable, where three rifles and ammunition were found.
In a separate case, police searched an unoccupied house in Shipovo, near Zubin Potok. They said they found a Yugoslav-made AK-47 with six magazines and 157 rounds, as well as an M-48 hunting rifle and 186 rounds for a long gun. RTS reported the seizure. There have been no arrests in this case so far.
A prosecutor ordered investigations in both cases on suspicion of unauthorized possession, control or ownership of weapons. The report described S.V. as the tenth Serb arrested in northern Kosovo that day.
Earlier that morning, nine people were arrested in Zubin Potok on suspicion of war crimes against civilians. A joint statement by the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina and police said the operation was part of a case known as the Intellectuals Group, under the code name Dossier 23. Those detainees were also held for up to 48 hours. The report did not link those arrests to the searches in Dren and Shipovo.
