Russia recommends at least nine days for school holidays in 2026–27

The Education Ministry recommends an autumn break from October 26 to November 3, a winter break from December 31 to January 10, and a spring break from March 27 to April 4. The dates apply to the 2026–27 school year.

Kravtsov said the minimum duration is intended to give pupils enough time to rest. The ministry's schedule is a recommendation rather than a uniform binding calendar; individual schools approve their own dates.

Under the recommended autumn schedule, the break itself lasts nine days. Combined with the preceding weekends and Russia's National Unity Day, pupils could have 12 days off. The winter break would last 11 days.
