Applications for student, teaching and stabilisation loans remain open until the end of September. The next round runs from 1 to 31 October, fund representative Nikola Winková told TASR.
September’s student allocations comprise €2.5 million for loans with a guarantor, €138,000 for loans without one and €550,000 for the excelentné category. Depending on the product, students can obtain between €1,000 and €40,000. All student loans carry a 4% interest rate.
Loans without guarantors and the excelentné category attract the greatest demand. Winková said demand for the latter had regularly exceeded its allocation in recent years, while revised conditions had sharply increased interest in guarantor-free loans. Final demand will be assessed after applications close; priority criteria apply if applications exceed available funding.
This year, stabilisation loans have been extended to additional regulated shortage occupations in healthcare and education. That new group receives €2 million, alongside €2 million allocated to nursing. These loans amount to €4,000 and require no guarantor.
The current round also allocates €800,000 to teaching loans. Eligible teaching and specialist staff and other qualifying applicants can borrow up to €15,000 at 4%. The fund has more than 10,000 loans on its records and does not maintain a separate regional breakdown of applicants. Detailed eligibility and conditions are available at fnpv.sk.
