Friends sometimes call the 48-year-old model and presenter Sylvie Meis “Single-Sylvie.” She told the German Press Agency that her friend Riccardo says she is funnier and has more adventurous stories when she is not in a relationship.
Meis said she currently values being independent and able to say yes spontaneously to work or travel opportunities. Her next year is already fully scheduled, and she noted that a new relationship would involve many compromises. Still, she described falling in love as a kind of energy that cannot be bought or planned for. She would like to experience it again, but is unsure whether she would give up her freedom for it.
Meis is hosting a new season of Love Island VIP. The dating show brings singles — some reality-TV personalities and some previously unknown — together at a villa in Greece, with Meis guiding their attempts to pair up. Episodes air Wednesdays at 8:15pm on RTLzwei and are available on RTL+ seven days earlier.
Meis was married to footballer Rafael van der Vaart from 2005 to 2013. She married artist Niclas Castello in 2020; the couple announced their separation in 2023.
