The accused, identified as Nassim Eronn of Burlington, about 56 kilometres south of Toronto, faces charges arising from incidents allegedly committed at healthcare facilities where she worked. Police believe the incidents occurred between February 2024 and last month.
The charges include 34 counts of fraud involving less than C$5,000, 13 counts of theft involving less than C$5,000 and seven counts of failing to comply with court orders. She is also charged with breach of trust and personation. Police have not disclosed her specific roles at the facilities.
The Ontario Provincial Police investigation began in May after reports of thefts while the accused was working at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, about 130 kilometres north of Toronto. Investigators expanded the inquiry to other hospitals after identifying further incidents. Several search warrants were executed and items believed to be connected to the case were seized.
Five facilities are part of the investigation: Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia, Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, Mississauga Hospital, part of Trillium Health Partners, and St Joseph’s Health Centre and West Park Health Care Centre in Toronto.
Police believe there may be additional victims who have not come forward. The OPP urged members of the public to review their financial records and report suspicious transactions. The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.
