Pastor Marcos Galdino Jr. backs Caiado and rejects Brazil’s political polarization

Pastor Marcos Galdino Jr., who leads the Assembleia de Deus Santo Amaro church, has distanced himself from evangelical leaders increasingly aligning with Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential bid. Galdino Jr. has sharply criticized both President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the Liberal Party candidate, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

In an interview with Folha’s Painel column, he described both politicians as unimpressive and argued that Lulism and Bolsonarism place their movements above Brazil’s interests. He said he opposes both candidates and believes the country is losing because of political polarization.

Galdino Jr. said he will support Ronaldo Caiado of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). His choice differs from the growing support for Flávio Bolsonaro among some evangelical leaders. Source: Folha de S.Paulo.
