Samsung Electronics said Monday it will expand its artificial intelligence subscription services with more personalized options. The South Korean technology company said the service, launched two years ago, has generated nearly 1 trillion won (US$734 million) in cumulative sales, excluding mobile products.
Im Sung-taek, executive vice president and head of Samsung’s South Korea sales team, told reporters that Samsung AI Subscription with Blue Pass was approaching 1 trillion won in sales one year after Blue Pass launched. He credited customer support for the growth.
The latest changes focus on more personalized customer care. Samsung has added two options to Blue Pass, which provides expert assistance ranging from product installation to after-sales service. The company said it plans to develop subscription choices around customers’ life stages, product-management needs and budgets.
Samsung cited rapid growth in South Korea’s subscription market as a key reason for the expansion. According to the company, 94.8% of South Korean consumers used subscription services this year, with an average of 5.5 services per person and monthly subscription spending of 41,853 won.
