In an interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur in Berlin, SAP chief executive Christian Klein described the current moment as the company’s biggest opportunity for another significant growth push. Investors are looking for revenue to accelerate, he said, adding that SAP has never had a better chance to outperform its past growth.
Klein said SAP aims to combine its enterprise management software with industry knowledge and large volumes of data, which he called a unique advantage. The company is now directing more of its business toward new AI products, following a cloud shift Klein initiated in earlier years.
At a customer conference in the United States in mid-May, SAP introduced its concept of the “autonomous enterprise,” supported by a unified AI platform intended to optimize customers’ business operations.
Klein said SAP’s AI agents are to be embedded in customers’ processes, data and enterprise management systems, delivering results and reducing costs. He joined SAP in 1999 and has served as chief executive since 2019.
