South Korean President Lee Jae Myung plans to chair a meeting on Tuesday to review progress on the government’s “three megaprojects” initiative, his office said Sept. 28. The program is centered on strengthening the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries.
The public-private meeting, the third of its kind, will take place at Cheong Wa Dae. It will review projects focused on semiconductors, physical AI and AI data centers.
Participants will also discuss how to ensure good living conditions in areas where the projects will be based. Reports on creating livable communities will be presented by the Office for Government Policy Coordination and the ministries responsible for land, education, culture and health.
Relevant ministers and presidential office officials will attend alongside senior executives from Samsung and SK. The meeting is intended both to check project progress and to address conditions in communities around the planned project areas, according to the presidential office.
