Lee Eog-weon, chairman of South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC), said the regulator and capital-market organizations would step up efforts to strengthen the market’s global standing. He made the remarks at Korea Premium Weeks 2026, an investor-relations program designed to promote the country’s capital market.

Lee said the market’s international profile had already benefited from last year’s record gains and its market capitalization. “The government will continue to implement market reform measures as planned, and work to promote the local capital market,” he said.

The FSC and Korea Exchange are jointly organizing the investor-relations sessions, which are scheduled to run for three weeks and include 55 listed companies. Government officials and experts will review the results of capital-market reforms and discuss future policy directions.

The agenda also includes South Korea’s corporate-governance reforms and ways to improve governance further. Participants will examine structural changes to market infrastructure, including longer trading hours and a shorter T+1 settlement cycle.
