The General Staff’s account, covering the situation as of 8 a.m. Monday, 28 September, also listed 2,918 shelling attacks. The figures are claims by Ukraine’s military command and were not independently verified in the report.
The update said Russian forces attacked six times on the North Slobozhansky axis near Bachivsk, Hirky and Volfyne. Ukrainian units repelled seven attacks on the South Slobozhansky axis near Starytsia, Kozacha Lopan, Volokhivske and Prykolotne. Two attacks were reported near Kivsharivka and Kolisnykivka on the Kupiansk axis, and seven near Kolodiazi, Novoselivka, Zarichne, Lyman and Dibrova on the Lyman axis.
The command reported three assaults near Mykolaivka on the Sloviansk axis and one toward Fedorivka Druha on the Kramatorsk axis. It recorded 25 attacks on the Kostiantynivka axis near Mykolaipillia, Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Dovha Balka and Rusyn Yar. On the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian forces said they stopped 20 attacks.
The report also listed five attacks toward Sichneve and Verbove on the Oleksandrivka axis and 12 on the Huliaipole axis near Rizdvianka, Kopani, Yehorivka and Myrne. It said there were no assaults on the Orikhiv and Dnipro axes and no signs of Russian offensive groupings forming in the Volyn and Polissia areas.
Ukraine’s General Staff said its aviation, missile forces and artillery struck two areas where Russian personnel were concentrated and four drone-control points. In a separate estimate, it put Russian military losses from 24 February 2022 through 28 September 2026 at about 1,531,060 people; that figure is Ukraine’s assessment.
