Slovenia's Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has warned about the phishing site gov-si.subvencije223.com. It imitates government websites and asks users to enter personal information and select a bank to supposedly receive an energy subsidy. The ministry says no such energy subsidies exist and the site is not connected to the government or any state body.
According to the national cybersecurity centre SI-CERT, fraudulent messages are also spread through compromised Viber accounts. The aim is to obtain credentials for Viber accounts and online banking. Although the address contains the words “gov-si,” the actual domain is subvencije223.com; official Slovenian government websites use gov.si.
The ministry said other warning signs include the use of an outdated ministry name and fabricated information about subsidy payments. State bodies do not ask people to log in to online banking through links in messages, nor do they conduct such procedures through Viber.
Recipients should delete the message and avoid opening its link. The scam can be reported to SI-CERT. Anyone who has entered online or mobile banking credentials or approved a transaction should contact their bank immediately; those who suffered financial loss should also notify the police.
