Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said Piotr Moczulski had returned to Poland and was on his way to a hospital in Białystok. A military medical evacuation team flew from Poland to the Philippines aboard a government Gulfstream, normally used to transport senior officials.
The minister said the aircraft and medical team were sent because the case was critical and there was no other way to transport the patient home. Kosiniak-Kamysz said the armed forces were ready to help Polish citizens abroad wherever they faced a difficult situation.
The crash happened in April 2024 while Moczulski was travelling in the Philippines. He was riding a scooter on a road through jungle when he collided head-on with another two-wheeler. He suffered severe head trauma, brain swelling and multiple fractures. Filipino doctors saved his life, but Polish media reported that he remains in serious condition, needs continuous oxygen support and has limited contact with his surroundings.
Moczulski is now being transferred from the airport to the hospital in Białystok. A fundraiser for his care remained active on the Siepomaga platform. Organizers thanked contributors and described his return home as a long-awaited moment for his family.
