Fielmann plans to open in the fourth quarter of this year in the former More & More unit. That retailer’s lease expired in June 2025, and the space has remained vacant since then for what management called strategic reasons. Fielmann will be the mall’s third optician, alongside Apollo and Krass.
A new pharmacy is expected to begin serving customers in the first quarter of next year, possibly earlier. It will occupy the former Sidestep shoe-store unit near Edeka. The previous pharmacy closed in autumn 2022, leaving nearby residents with longer trips for medicines. Mieke said he had been seeking a new operator since at least January 2024.
Spanish womenswear chain Mango is also due to open before the end of this year, although management has not announced a date. Its store will combine two neighboring units: the former New Yorker location, after that chain moved elsewhere in the mall, and the adjacent Levi’s space, which has been vacant since the brand closed it in June last year.
The announcements add to a series of openings and refurbishments at the center, which is marking its 30th anniversary this year. Menswear retailer Engbers reopened after renovation in March, a new hairdresser opened in April, and lingerie retailer Hunkemöller returned after modernization in June.
A new Aldi branch opened three weeks ago, making it the mall’s second food retailer after Edeka. At the same time, cosmetics chain Rituals reopened in a larger, renovated unit after moving within the center. Mieke described the new tenants and rising visitor numbers as positive signs for the mall.
