The Israeli military alleged that Zakar Nabil Musa Qaisi supported Hamas and violated the ceasefire. The report did not independently verify the claims.
The Israel Defense Forces said it carried out a strike in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, killing Zakar Nabil Musa Qaisi, whom it described as a member of Hamas’s Nukhba unit. The military alleged that he took part in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel. Ynet’s report did not provide independent verification of the claims.
The IDF also said Qaisi headed the Turkish charity Deniz Feneri. According to the military, the organisation and its officials presented their work as humanitarian while maintaining links with Hamas leaders and helping fund and regularly employ members of the group. The report attributed these allegations to the military statement.
The IDF further alleged that Qaisi had recently advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and helped restore Hamas’s capabilities, which it said violated the ceasefire. The military said it took steps to reduce civilian risk before the strike, including using precision weapons and aerial surveillance. The report did not give information about possible civilian casualties.
