Kerala’s state government will start disbursing September pensions for social security and welfare fund board beneficiaries on Thursday, the chief minister’s office said.

The state will commence distribution of September pensions for both social security and welfare fund board recipients on Thursday, according to a statement from Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s office.

The Finance Department has sanctioned a total of ₹1,068.79 crore for the two pension schemes, allocating ₹957.93 crore to social security pensions and ₹110.86 crore to welfare fund board pensions.

Under the social security scheme, ₹531.62 crore will be deposited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, while ₹426.30 crore will be paid out through primary cooperative credit societies to reach households.

The finance order requires that the entire pension distribution be completed by October 5.
