Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva has qualified for the WTA Finals for the first time in her career. She secured her place by reaching the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing, RIA Novosti reported.
The season-ending tournament, featuring the top eight players of the year, will be held in Indian Wells, United States, from November 8 to 15. Andreeva is the third player to qualify. Elena Rybakina, who represents Kazakhstan and was born in Moscow, and Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka had qualified earlier.
The 19-year-old Andreeva won her first Grand Slam title this season at the French Open, Roland Garros. It will be her first appearance at the WTA Finals.
