Moscow drone tally reaches 124 after 19 more intercepted, reports say

Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported further interceptions. RBC and Lenta cited different totals for the overnight drone activity.

Russian air defences shot down 19 more Ukrainian drones heading toward Moscow, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said. RBC, citing the mayor’s posts, reported that the new information brought the number of drones destroyed near the capital since the evening of Oct. 5 to 124.

Earlier, Lenta.ru, also citing Sobyanin, said 650 drones had been directed toward the Moscow region between 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 5 a.m. on Oct. 6. Most were destroyed farther from the capital, according to the mayor.

The figures describe different geographic scopes: RBC gave the count intercepted on the approach to Moscow, while Lenta.ru reported the number directed toward the wider Moscow region. The mayor provided no further details about the consequences.
