Munich’s Oktoberfest draws a record 7.4 million visitors

The 16-day festival attracted around 14 per cent more people than last year. Beer consumption rose to 6.7 million litres.

Around 7.4 million people visited Munich’s Oktoberfest in 2026, festival organisers said, setting a new attendance record. The event drew about 6.5 million visitors last year. Its previous record was 7.2 million, set in 2023.

The festival ended on 4 October after 16 days. The Association of Munich Breweries said consumption of festival beer rose 2.7 per cent to around 6.7 million litres. Demand for non-alcoholic beer increased by 10.7 per cent.

Organisers reported stronger weekday attendance and attributed the increase to the city’s visitor-management campaign and warm weather. The attendance figure is a preliminary estimate.
