The Netherlands beat Serbia 2-1 in the fourth round of the Nations League to take the lead in Group A2. The Dutch have eight points. Serbia remain bottom of the group without a point.

Teun Koopmeiners opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Serbia’s Mihajlo Cvetković equalised four minutes later, before Joshua Zirkzee scored the winner in the 72nd minute.

After the match, Netherlands coach Xavi told NOS that his team had to defend for long stretches despite wanting to control possession. He said a change of formation improved the side’s performance and added that the team also needed to be comfortable defending in a low or medium block.
