The Senators beat the Flyers in their NHL regular-season home opener on October 8.
The game was played at Canadian Tire Centre. It was Ottawa’s first home fixture of the season, more than a week after the NHL schedule began. Philadelphia arrived in Canada’s capital after opening its regular-season campaign on the road.
Before the home opener, Linus Ullmark was 2-0-0 with a 1.20 goals-against average and a 94.9% save percentage, the club said. Ottawa finished with a one-goal advantage. The NHL’s official game center recorded the final score as 2-1, leaving the Flyers unable to draw level in the game.
