Kavali Rural Police say they arrested three people and seized 92.79 kilograms of ganja from two cars during checks on National Highway 16 near the Musunuru toll plaza.

The vehicle check took place at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, near the junction of the cement road leading to Batladinne village in Kavali mandal. Police said the two cars were travelling from Ongole towards Nellore when their drivers noticed a patrol and attempted to turn back.

Officers surrounded the vehicles and searched them, finding 42 packets of ganja with a combined reported weight of 92.79 kilograms. Kavali Rural Circle Inspector G. Rajeshwara Rao described the operation while addressing the media.
